“Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing.” Genesis 12:2
This area of scripture, known as the Abrahamic Calling, has become the foundational calling of Calvary Red Rock. It is a “book-end” that God has placed at the beginning of His divine historical plan in order to establish and direct His chosen people into the task He has assigned them.
What is this task? To see God’s end desire we need to peer ahead into the channels of history to Revelation chapter 7, verse 9. It’s there that we find the other “book-end” of history as we see “…a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne… ” This is the heartbeat of our loving, powerful God! To spend all of eternity with those who will put their trust and faith in the offer of redemption He gave through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ!
God has placed the burden of properly filling this gap between book-ends solely upon the church. Calvary Red Rock is dedicated, with priority, to the fulfilling of the Great Commission. This begins right outside our front door, and expands to every nook and cranny around the globe.
Join us today in praying for the lost, and for ways that our missionary God wants to insert us, individually and corporately, into His divine plan for mankind. Praise be to the Lamb, both now and forever, Amen!
